Breaking: Former teacher from Donegal found guilty of indecently assaulting student

A former secondary school teacher has been found guilty of indecently assaulting a young teenage student in the mid-1980s.

RTE News reports that Jacintha McSherry O’Connor, who is 63 and from the Mullins in Donegal town, pleaded not guilty to two counts of indecently assaulting a child on dates between 1 June and 1 September, 1985.

She was a student teacher in her 20s, based in Dublin at the time of the incidents. The boy was 13.

Ms McSherry O’Connor was remanded on bail until December.
