Donegal advance in Nicky Rackard Cup with win over Armagh

Armagh 1-12 v 0-22 Donegal

Donegal’s senior hurlers have advanced in the Nicky Rackard Cup with a comfortable win over Armagh this evening.

A fine win away from home against their provincial rivals sees Donegal advance to the second round.

It was a tight matchup in the first half, an early goal from Armagh’s Alex O’Boyle getting the orchard county men out to a fine start.

Donegal battled back however to take a slim lead into the break, 1-7 to 0-13 in favour of Donegal.

The game remained close until a sending-off for one of the Armagh players left them with 14 men and Donegal now holding an advantage.

Donegal would push on with a range of scores, primarily from Liam McKinney with contributions from Sean Kelly and Peter Kelly also helping to fire Donegal to a comfortable seven point win.
