Donegal 2-12 v 1-8 Tyrone
Donegal Minors followed up their opening day away win over Fermanagh in Group A of the Ulster Minor championship with an impressive victory over Tyrone at Fr. Tierney Park in Ballyshannon.
In windy conditions Barry Ward’s team scored goals either side of half-time which proved vital in this victory.
The visitors had the benefit of the elements in the first-half but as both teams found it difficult to find their best game scores were hard to find. Coming up to half-time Tyrone lead by 0-06 to 0-03 but Donegal struck a vital blow with a goal by Colm O Doherty, who finished off a good move to send the teams in level at the break.
The home team and O Doherty struck again immediately in the second-half with a second goal to take control and from there and they never looked back.
They scored four points in a row to lead by 2-07 to 0-06 and even the consession of a goal made little difference as they ran out comfortable winners by 2-12 to 1-08 to make it two wins from two to top the Group A table.
In the other game in the Group today, Monaghan recorded a big win over Fermanagh.
