Donegal 1-07 v 2-08 Armagh

Donegal’s Minor footballers suffered defeat to Armagh this afternoon in the Ulster Championship Semi Final.

Despite home advantage in the tie, played in Ballyshannon, Armagh were able to establish an early run of points.

Donegal were 6 points down before they hit their first point of the tie in the 19th minute as Donnachadh O Baighill struck.

At the end of the first half Donegal trailed by 0-03 to 0-08, and that defecit worsened as Armagh fired home their first goal of the contest just after half-time, Jack Loughran with the strike.

James McCooe then fired home Armagh’s second goal moments later, leaving it 0-03 to 2-08 and Donegal in the lurch.

They did battle back as the game concluded, including a Colm O Dochairtaigh goal, but it wasn’t enough for Donegal’s minors as they fell at the second-to-last hurdle in Ulster.
