Election 2024: Mac Giolla Easbuig ahead of McClafferty in Glenties tally

The two Michaels have topped the tally in the Glenties Electoral area.

Micheal Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig again topped the poll with Michael McClafferty close in second place in this six seater constituency.

Just over one hundred votes separate both leading candidates with Mac Giolla Easbuig tallying 2,11 votes or 16.2% and McClafferty on 1,902 votes or 14.6%.

Fianna Fail’s Anthony Molloy tallied 1,400 votes with 10.7% of the overall tally with Brian Carr of Sinn Fein in fourth place with 1,003 votes or 7.7% of the vote.

Sitting councillor John Shéamais Ó Fearraigh of Sinn Fein is in fifth position with7.4% of the tally with 968 votes.

The 100% Redress Party also have another possible councillor here in Denis McGe who is in sixth place in the tally with of the 6.7% tally with 876 votes.

The following is the latest tally although there is a small number of outstanding votes from the islands.
