Erin McLaughlin called-up for Nations League

Peamount United midfielder Erin McLaughlin has been called up to the Ireland Women’s National Team for the Nations League double-header with Albania.

The Inishowen footballer was selected by Interim head coach Eileen Gleeson for the two games, which start at home on Friday, October 27 in Tallaght Stadium before travelling to Shkoder for a game on Tuesday, October 31.

In-form McLaughlin last week helped Peamount United win the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division title with two games still to play.

Injuries rule out Niamh Fahey, Aoife Mannion, Claire Walsh, Tara O’Hanlon, Ruesha Littlejohn, Roma McLaughlin, Jess Ziu and Leanne Kiernan.

With all tickets sold out for the home game, Ireland will be hoping that a full house turns up for their third game in Group B1 following on from victories over Northern Ireland and Hungary last month.
