Fergus McGee has confirmed that he will step down as Donegal GAA Chairman after just one year in the hotseat.
It is understood the St Eunan’s clubman told colleagues at an executive meeting last night that he will not be seeking re-election at the County Convention in December.
He was in charge for what could only be described as a tumultuous year with the Karl Lacey, and Academy, debacle as well as Paddy Carr’s early resignation as senior team manager.
However, he has managed to steady the ship and was involved in luring Jim McGuiness back for a second term.
