The candidates spoke about the Electoral Area they hope to represent and the challenges faced by both urban and rural communities. They discussed important issues such as housing, defective blocks, business, and farming communities. They pledged to work together for the Fine Gael party and the Finn Valley Area.

The convention was attended by several dignitaries, including visiting chair Deputy Frank Feighan, Jim McMahon, Gerry McMunn, National Executive member, Harold Doherty, chair of the constituency, and Doreen Sheridan Kennedy, Secretary of the Constituency. Councillor Johnny Mc Guinness also attended to show his support for his fellow councillors and party members.
