They may have fallen at the final hurdle to Dungiven last year.
But there was no such pain for Four Masters as they won the Ulster Minor title today in impressive fashion.
The scoreline of 1-10 to 2-4 may have suggested a close game but Odie McBride’s side were full value for their win.
The sides were level at half time on a scoreline of 1-4 to 2-1 after Gaels found the net twice in the opening period although both efforts had elements of luck to them.
But despite going behind again in the second half Four Masters dug in and managed to pull away thanks to points from Oisin Doherty and Kevin Muldoon.
The stand-out player for Four Masters, despite being just 15-years-old, must be Tomas Carr who covered every inch of the St Paul’s pitch in Belfast.
However, it was an overall team performance from the Donegal Town side and one which they can justifiably feel proud of.
