GAA: St Nauls ensure Senior Championship status for 2024

This fixture would decide which of these teams would remain in the Senior Championship and which would drop to the Intermediate Championship for 2024.

St.Nauls got off to a flying start and raced to a 0-05 to 0-00 lead in the very early stages .

Milford finally settled into the game and pulled the deficit back to 0-03, 0-06 to 0-03 after fifteen minutes.

Only two further points were scored in the remainder of the first-half, both by St.Nauls and at half-time they led by 0-08 to 0-03 and looked good to push on and win the game.

That lead moved on to 0-10 to 0-04 in the opening ten minutes of the second-half as Milford’s task became more difficult despite their best efforts.

That lead went out to 0-13 to 0-04 and as the game entered the latter stages 0-15 to 0-07.

However, credit to Milford for keeping their challenge going but those five early points that they conceded without reply were always going to make in tough to get back in the game as St.Nauls kept the scoreboard ticking over.

And that’s exactly how it panned out with St.Nauls ensuring they would again contest Senior Championship football in 2024 on a final scoreline of 0-17 to 0-09.

In the Intermediate Championship Relegation Play-off Final played at Pairc Aodh Rua in Killygordan , Burt beat Naomh Brid by 0-10 to 1-05 in a hard fought game. Burt retain Intermediate status for next year, Naomh Brid drop to the Junior Championship for 2024.
