Donegal athlete Sinead McConnell was welcomed home from the World Masters Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a remarkable haul of medals.

The Finn Valley AC star had a fantastic tournament, securing silver in both the 5K and 10K walks and a bronze in the 20K race walk, marking a historic achievement in her career.

Competing in her first-ever 20K race walk at Slottsskogen City Park, McConnell’s impressive performance earned her a medal that completed a fine hat-trick.

McConnell was celebrated by friends and family at Finn Valley AC yesterday evening.
