Harps suffer disappointing away defeat to Kerry FC

Kerry FC 2 – 0 Finn Harps

Finn Harps walked away from one of their longest away trips of the season empty-handed last night.

Harps were looking to bolster their strong start to the First Division season, but struggled to get going in Tralee as the long journey seemed to take a toll.

After a fruitless first half for both sides, Kerry’s Ryan Kelliher was on hand to nod in from a corner in the 55th minute.

Harps’ misery was compounded just 10 minutes later, when Daniel Okute found the back of the net after a messy scramble in the box.

It was a lead Kerry would hold onto, as they secured only their second win of the campaign.

Harps are now fifth in the First Division table, only behind fourth-placed Wexford on goal difference.
