Ballyraine Youths completed an historic treble when they captured the John Gorey Curran Cup after an emphatic victory against neighbours Bonagee United.

The game played at the newly reopened Leckview Park was played before a sizeable crowd who were treated to half a dozen goals.

Ballyraine Youths… 6 Bonagee…0

In a game in which Ballyraine dominated from start to finish, they opened the scoring in the 15 th minute when a well worked short corner resulted in Iarla Duffy knocking a ball down at the back post for Kyle Martin to tap home.

Ballyraine continued to dominate possession and could have added to their tally on several occasions but for good defensive work and poor finish.

The second duly arrived on 30 minutes when another corner from the left was met at the back post by
Iarla Duffy finish.

Whatever hope Bonagee had of getting back into tie diminished in the first minute of the second half when Ballyraine won a penalty after a tangle in the box.

Up stepped Kyle Martin to send Crampsie the wrong way and make it 3 nil on the night.

That goal seemed to kill the game as a contest and Ballyraine really started to knock the ball around now with confidence. They added a fourth shortly after when Shay Maloney finished after a flowing move down the left channel saw Martin square for
him to tap home.

Martin added another assist to his performance when he broke clear down the right to cross for Ben Coyle on 60 minutes, who tapped home.

The scoring finished when Kyle Martin capped off a brilliant performance to complete his hat trick when Maloney cut back for him to fire home.

Enda Nicholls and Kyle Maloney’s team completed a memorable season with Gorey Curran Cup added to the Donegal Youth League Title and the Letterkenny Northwest Cup.
