Here are all of this week’s results and match reports from the Inishowen League.

Keadue Res 2
Daniel Gallagher for the home side had the first real chance when his shot was cleared off the line by the Keadue defence. Keadue responded when they got a free kick outside the box, a high ball in was headed home by Brendan McCafferty to put the visitors ahead. Andrew Gallagher was very unfortunate for Rovers when his shot went inches wide. Good game with both defences on top with little chances for either side. Rovers pressed and a cross in by Andrew Gallagher ended up with a sliced clearance by Keadue’s Pauric Neely with the ball ending up in the back of the net to leave it level at the break. Keadue’s Aaron Ward came close when he broke through the defence forcing Mark Mc Laughlin into making a fine save in the first opportunity of the second period. The visitors then won a free kick thirty yards out midway through the half and when the home side failed to clear Liam Boyle fired his team in front from close range. The home side tried hard in the closing stages but the visitors defence stood firm to advance.

Rashenny FC 2
This all Inishowen clash started at a high tempo and the home side took the lead in the 15th minute after Liam Baldrick flicked on a corner and the ball cannoned off a defender and into the net. Rashenny responded and were out of luck when Gareth McKeever saw two separate efforts crash back off the post. Dunree then increased their lead on the stroke of half time. Adam Barrett strode forward from his centre back position and split the visitors defence for Daniel Mclaughlin whose effort was parried by Damien Friel but Bernie Doherty was first to the loose ball to slot home. Ten minutes into the second period the home side made it three nil when Conor Barrett dispossessed a defender and fed Bernie Doherty to fire home from twenty five yards. They had another gilt edged chance when Cian Moran was free at the back post but he was denied by a superb save from Friel. Rashenny got a lifeline back into the game when they were awarded a penalty for hand ball with Friel stepping up to drill the penalty home. It was game on then after 81 minutes when they visitors scored again after the home defence failed to deal with a high ball allowing McKeever to slot home. Rashenny threw everything at the home defence but Dunree stood firm to advance.

Redcastle United 3
The holders Redcastle started this game well and on 8 minutes Shaun Curran fed Darragh McConway who fired just over the bar. They took the lead minutes later after Curran played a one two with McConway before releasing Jack McConalogue to fire to the top corner past Frank Early in the home goal. Arranmore responded midway through the half when Martin McCargill broke clear of the visitors defence but as Michael McCole advanced to narrow the angle McCargill fired wide of the left hand post. The visitors increased their advantage when Curran released McConway on the right and as Early advanced McConway superbly chipped the ball over the keeper to the net. They then made it three nil on 33 minutes when after Stephen Grant crossed from the right for Gavin Grant to fire past Early from ten yards. McConway had the final chance before the break cutting in from the left but shooting just wide. On the resumption Martin McCarron found McConway who beat a defender but fired over the bar.Arranmore tried to respond with an Aiden O Donnell cross headed wide by Martin Proctor before Glen O Donnell then fed Paul Early but his effort was well saved by Michael McCole. But Redcastle were on top and Mark Farren fired narrowly wide before a Curran header was cleared off the line by O Donnell. In injury time the home side’s Sean Bonnie advanced from midfield and unleashed an effort which forced a full length diving save from McCole.
Oldtown Celtic 4
Buncrana Hearts Res 0
Donegal’s Saturday Division One league leaders Oldtown were too strong for Sean Tolleys young Buncrana side. The home side went two nil ahead by the half hour mark and Buncrana were dealt a severe blow when keeper Oran McBride was also red carded. Oldtown saw the game out comfortably and added two second half goals to advance to the next round.

Cockhill Colts 3
Glenea started this game well and Graham Doherty in the Cockhill goal made two great saves to keep the game scoreless. Cockhill settled and when Joe Doherty split the home defence for Jude o Donnell to race into the area he was upended. Doherty then stepped up to convert the penalty midway through the half. They increased their lead before the break after good work from O’Donnell down the right saw his cross sept home by Shane Meehan from ten yards. On the hour mark Cockhill sealed the tie after Gavin Doherty broke on the left hand side and crossed for JudeO Donell to side foot home from twelve yards. The home side tried hard but could not penetrate the visitors defence who saw the game out to advance to the next round.

Carn FC 1
Greencastle FC 2
Played in beautiful conditions at St Patrick’s Park defences were on top in the opening period. But the visitors opened the scoring midway through the half after the Carn defence failed to clear a corner and DJ Canavan was on hand to poke the ball past Daniel McDaid from close range. Carn responded well to this set back and equalised before the interval after a cade Cooke cross was forced home by Cian Burke. The visitors began the second period well and regained the lead on 56 minutes when Nathan Harkin lobbed McDaid from just inside the area. Carn finished the game strongly pushing the visitors back but found clear chances hard to come by. On 79 minutes Kyran Cantwell had a clear sight of goal but failed to connect properly. They had another chance on 85minuets after a Jamie Doherty free found the unmarked Cantwell whose header came off the post and into the grateful arms of the keeper. The home side then had late claims for a penalty waved aside as the visitors held on for a narrow win.
Buncrana Hearts 4
Glengad United 0
The home side had early shouts for a penalty waved away before a Kieran McDaid corner found Calvin Gallagher at the edge of the area but he fired just over. Glengad responded with a quick counter attack on 21 minutes and Joe Doherty finding Terence Doherty but he blazed over. The visitors went close again when a goal bound Christopher McLaughlin free was headed away by Kevin O Loughlin. Buncrana upped the tempo then and a Kieran McDaid effort was superbly saved by the legs of Zach Conlon before Shaunie Bradley headed over an Eoin Murphy cross. The home side broke the deadlock on 41 minutes when Adam Curran went past a defender and crossed to Matthew Brown who laid the ball off for Murphy to drill to the bottom corner from the edge of the area. From the kick off Glengad had a chance after Terence Doherty raced onto a ball over the top and saw his half volley flash just past the stranded Taylor Clarke’s post. But the home side replied and increased their lead in the 50th minute after Kieran McDaid released Curran on the right and his cross was side footed home by Brown. The same players combined for another Curran cross but Shaun Bradley headed over. Buncrana made it three nil on the hour when Aaron McDaid dispossessed a defender and fired a stunning twenty five yards effort to the roof of the net. Glengad were always dangerous on the break and from Mclaughlins run and cross Conor O Neill fired over under pressure from a defender. Then a scramble in the home penalty area saw Terence Doherty have two efforts blocked and cleared. The Hearts sealed the win on 81 minutes after a superb pass from Callum Gillen split the visitors defence for Jamie McDaid to slot low past Conlon.

Clonmany Shamrocks 3
Defences were on top in the opening fifteen minutes but the visitors took the lead on 21 minutes when Conor Doherty released Shane McCaul on the right and his cross cannoned off a defender and into the net. Moville replied and when Andrew McCarron found Ryan McClgan his dangerous cross was well smothered by Liam McGonigle in the Shamrocks goal. Clonmany had another chance from a corner with a Jake Harkin header well saved by Stephen Teles before the break. Clonmany got off to a dream start after the interval with a Matthew Brennan free headed home by the unmarked Jason Devlin from six yards. They went close again after Paddy Doherty fired wide when well placed. Moville rallied and when McColgan cut the ball back to the edge of the area Andrey Kylmenko blazed over before Norbert Indyka had an effort blocked by a defender. Clonmany finished strongly with Alex McFadden denied by a brilliant last ditch tackle from Deaglan Lynch and from the corner Gareth Bradley headed over. In the final minute Clonmany added their third goal when a defensive error allowed McCaul to race clear and he squared for McFadden to slot home.
Aileach FC 4
Illies Celtic 4
With barely 3 minutes on the clock Illies were ahead when a defensive error allowed Patrick Curran in on goal and he slid the ball past the out rushing Dillon Porter from twelve yards. Aileach got back on terms in the 10th minute when Caoimhin McFeeley cut in from the left and fired high past Johnny Noone from a narrow angle. But Illies got back in front on 23 minutes after a short free kick found Kevin Mc Gonagle who crossed from the right for Liam Doherty to bundle home from close range. Aileach pulled level once again on the half hour when a corner from the left by Reece Mc Gilloway was deflected into his own net by an Illies defender. The away side grabbed the lead again on 40 minutes when Kevin McGonagle overlapped down the right once again and crossed for Dominick Coyle to toe poke home at the near post. With half time approaching Aileach levelled once again when Darren Bradley was taken down in the box by Johnny Noone and Gavin Doherty converted the resulting penalty. On 50 minutes the home side took the lead for the first time when a Dermot Doherty corner from the left was headed powerfully home from six yards by Thomas Mc Monagle. Illies responded and midway through the half Liam Doherty cut in from the right and fired goalwards from twenty yards but his effort was just wide of Porter’s right hand post. At the other end Dermot Doherty brought a fine save from Johnny Noone when he hit a twenty yard drive which the keeper did well to turn around the post for a corner. Illies pressure finally told in the 85th minute when Dominick Coyle fired home the equaliser from eight yards.
Strand Hotel First Division

QPS suffered their first league defeat of the season in the main due to an inspired performance from the visitors Brendan Mclaughlin who hit a first half hat trick. McLaughlin opened the scoring midway through the half with a superb twenty five yards strike past Conor O’Neill. He added a second when he finished well from a Jack O Brien cross before completing his hat trick in the 38th minute. Controlling a ball on his chest in the area he turned and slotted low to the corner giving O’Neill no chance. Minutes later Keith Norris made it four nil with an excellent finish. The home side responded before the break and reduced the deficit when Aaron Scott fired past Patrick McLaughlin from twenty yards. The second half saw the home side try to get back into the game but the visitors defence held firm and they were a threat on the counter attack. QPS scored a late consolation when Sean Og Gallagher headed home Seamus McFadden’s left wing corner.
Aileach Res 5
Carn Res 2
The home side started this game in control and were three nil ahead at the break before the visitors rallied. Aileach opened the scoring on 22 minutes after Josh Boyle seized on a poor clearance in the Carn defence to slot home from ten yards. They doubled their lead after Andrew Ross collected a deep cross on the left and puled the ball back for Stephen Doherty to head home. On the stroke of half time a looping James Wallace cross was met by a sidefoot volley from Tom Doherty to leave Aileach three nil ahead at the break. Carn rallied after 66 minutes when a Mark Scott cross was headed past David McGeady by Dylan Cooke. Two minutes later they were right back in it after Conor Doherty released Scott who held off a defender and fired low past McGeady. But Aileach regained control on 77 minutes after Boyle fed Stephen Doherty who unleashed a stunning twenty five yards effort to the top corner. They sealed the tie on 82 minutes when Wallace converted a penalty after Doherty had been upended in the area.

In beautiful conditions at Caratra Park on Sunday morning the home side started well with both Jack Mills and Billy Hume having efforts saved by Cockhill keeper Darragh O Donnell. The home side broke the deadlock on 21 minutes after Hume went on a solo run on the right before cutting in and firing left footed to the far corner for a superb goal. Cockhill responded and Caelan Moore fired narrowly wide. Culdaff were on top at this stage and Noel McLaughlin, Mills and Jack Curley all had efforts well saved by O Donnell. Noel Mclaughlin then saw a free kick rebound off the keeper but Dermot Diver following up fired wide. Cockhill replied before the break with a James Porter effort just wide. They got back on terms then after Porter intercepted a defensive pass and fired past Odhran Douglas to leave them level at the break. Cockhill started the second half with Cahir McDaid advancing from midfield and unleashing an effort which crashed back off the bar. They went close again when a Sean Bradley effort beat Douglas but veteran defender Diver was on hand to clear the ball off the line. Culdaff weathered the storm and regained the lead on the hour mark after a fantastic through ball by Tiernan McGeoghaghan released Hume and he fired low past O’Donnell. Minutes later home substitute Niall Gordon went within inches of increasing the lad but his effort drifted wide. They went close again after a Hume corner was headed just wide by Sonny Bonner. Cockhill tried hard but the the home defence stood firm to claim the points.

The home side started well with a Bryce Fullerton effort just over the bar before a darting Patrick Doherty run and cross found Paul Jackson who was denied by the Glengad keeper. The home side opened the scoring on 14 minutes after Fullerton fed Jackson to cut inside a defender and unleash a superb effort to the top corner. But Glengad responded before the break and got back on terms when Paul McGonagle got on the end of a good flowing move to slot home. Dunree started the second half well and both Oisin McGettigan and Doherty went close with efforts from outside the area. Glengad responded and when a Jason Doherty effort crashed back off the post the ball fell to Mullarkey to slot home and put the visitors ahead. Dunree threw everything at the visitors in the closing stages with both Jackson and Neil Moran seeing efforts deflected wide before Jason Spencer went close with a late header.
Carrowmena FC 8
Rashenny Rovers 0
The home side as expected were too strong for Rashenny’s third string and opened the scoring on 17 minutes when Ronan Doherty advanced on the left and squared the ball which was only half cleared to Cathal Crumlish to fire low past Roger McGilloway from eight yards. They added a second midway through the half after Crumlish cut inside a defender and crossed for Aaron Price to fire low to the corner from twelve yards. Within minutes it became three nil after a good flowing move ended with Doherty advancing before crossing for Brian Houten to unleash a powerful effort to the roof of the net from the edge of the area. Before the break Ronan Doherty converted a penalty after he had been upended. Rashenny started the second half well with Leo Devlin and Max Hela battling hard. But the home side made it five nil on 72 minutes after Crumlish stepped inside a defender and fired low to the net from fifteen yards. They added two goals in as many minutes with Ronan Doherty getting both to complete his hat trick. Sean Diver completed the scoring late on when Ryan McDermott unselfishly squared for Diver to slot home.

The home side dominated the opening half and opened the scoring in the 12th minute after a Nathan McLaughlin cross was headed to the roof of the net by Mickey Grant past Sam Coyle. Good work then by Shane Devlin set up Oran Doherty but he blazed over from ten yards before Doherty was then denied by a good save from Coyle. In a rare forway into Illies territory Caolan Ward advanced but could only shoot straight at Conor Doherty in the home goal. Before the break Illies doubled their lead when Shane Devlin converted a penalty lot to Coyles right hand side after Doherty was upended in the area. Illies were awarded a second penalty on 55 minutes when again Doherty was upended but this time Coyle in the Rashenny goal made a superb save from Devlin who went for the same spot. The visitors then got a goal back in the 73rd minute when Liam Toland charged down a clearance and the ball fell to ward to lob the stranded Doherty. Rashenny threw everything at the home side in the closing stages but the home defence stood firm to claim the points.
Redcastle Res 3
Aileach Youths 3
First chance of the game came to Aileach after ten minutes when a shot from Ryan Wilson was well saved by Oisín Quigley in the Redcastle net. Redcastle then took the lead five minutes later after a Shay Sweeney pass was hammered into the net by Gary Kelly from twelve yards. Aileach were level on 20 minutes with a cross from Andrew Walker was headed home at the far post by Ciaran Bradley. But Redcastle went ahead again on the half hour with a great individual goal from Shay Sweeney, after running from the half way line, he found the bottom corner of the net from ten yards. Aileach started the second half well and a corner from Aaron Doherty was headed against the bar by Kevin Wallace. The visitors equalised on the hour mark with a superb shot by Kevin Wallace finding the bottom corner from all of thirty yards. The home side went ahead again midway through the half when a Darren Harkin pass put Gary Kelly through and he made no mistake from fifteen yards. Aileach pushed hard for the equaliser and were rewarded when Aaron Doherty’s cross was fired into the net by Charlie Campbell from twelve yards. Redcastle almost won it at the death after a James Farren pass put Gary Kelly through but his shot was brilliantly saved by Dylan Clarke down to his right.
