Job Vacancy: Aqualab, a chemical and biological testing laboratory in Killybegs, is seeking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to join their team.

Job Summary:

• The maintenance of all ISO 17025 documentation relating to the role.
• Chemical preparation and quality control.
• Monitoring and general maintenance of laboratory equipment. Familiarity with HPLC would be desirable.
• Sample receipt and handling.
• Sample preparation and chemical analysis in accordance with documented procedures.
• Checking the accuracy of calculations and transcriptions to reports.
• Method validation.
• Ensuring customer confidentiality.
• Maintaining a suitable laboratory environment.
• Stock control and purchasing.
• Collating information for records and reports and maintaining necessary records in a manner, which will permit easy recall.
• Maintaining calibration schedules and associated records.
• Seasonal weekend work on a rotational basis is involved.

 

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

• Minimum NFQ 6 level of qualification in science, preferably analytical chemistry.
• Intermediate level computer proficiency.
• Role suitable for a graduate.

Preferred:

• Working experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
