Naomh Conaill superfan Danny scores a big day out for his class!

One of Naomh Conaill’s most inspirational supporters has been treated to a day off school today thanks to the Senior Team.

Eight-year-old Danny McLoone from Killybegs has seen his fair share of battles, having overcome three years of treatment for leukaemia.

All the while, he was steadfast in his support of the pitch battles of Naomh Conaill.

The team decided to return the support by pooling together and funding the ultimate day out for Danny and his friends.

Today, Danny and his 2nd class classmates at Scoil Mhuire are on a trip to Letterkenny to visit Century Play, followed by dinner and lots of treats.

The special day has been made possible thanks to the Naomh Conaill G.A.A Club Senior Men’s Team, Century Complex Letterkenny and McGuinness Coaches Ltd.

In a letter from the team to Danny, they wrote: “We are all so proud of what you have achieved and the warrior you have been over the past two years.

“There were evenings when we were training and some players would start to find it tough and begin to complain and want to give up, it was then that we would think of what a tough warrior you are, and it was thinking of you that would push us on to keep going.

“When games were getting tough, we would think of the battles that you have faced and that’s what helped us over the line.”

After speaking nicely to Danny’s teachers, they agreed to allow today’s adventures for Danny and friends.

Danny is the son of well-known Naomh Conaill star footballer Johnny and wife Geraldine.
