Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Donegal hosted its tenth annual charity 5k run/walk on the Letterkenny campus last week.
The PGIM sponsored event welcomed a total of 190 participants on the evening and over €2,000 was raised for Donegal Food Response Network, who were the chosen beneficiary.
The network is a collaborative effort involving 21 local community and voluntary organisations across Donegal. It addresses food poverty and food insecurity in the region and assists those in need in a discreet but effective way.
Helen Kennedy, ATU Donegal Sport Centre Manager, extends thanks to all participants, organisers and volunteers who helped make the charity event a positive community occasion and fundraiser.
“We are again delighted for the large turnout for our ever-growing ATU annual 5K,” she said.
“We would like to acknowledge the generosity shown from all participants towards this year’s charity, the Donegal Food Response Network. Finally, a huge thank you to all who helped ensure that the event ran safe and smoothly including staff, An Garda Síochána and the many volunteers.”
The eleventh ATU Donegal 5K, organised by ATU Donegal Sports Centre, will be held on Tuesday, April 1 2025 and all are welcome.
