Sean MacCumhaills hosting “heads up” wellbeing in sport event

Sean MacCumhaills CLG are hosting a special event focused on mental health awareness and wellbeing later this month.

The event, “Heads Up”, will take place at Jackson’s Hotel in Ballybofey on Friday the 27th of September, starting at 8pm.

The club says they wish to shine a light on some of the most prevalent mental health issues in our communities, including depression, gambling and low self-esteem.

MacCumhaills’ Health and Wellbeing Officer, Carol McCann, says that this evening is “a collaborative approach to mental health awareness as we are combining lived experiences with professional supports.”

Everyone, from inside and outside of the GAA, is welcome to the event.

Guest speakers will include Shane Carthy, Oisin McConville, Ronan McNamee, Katy Herron and Kevin Mills, with MC for the night being former Donegal GAA star Brendan Devenney.

Doors open at 7:15pm on the evening, and money raised will cover the cost of the evening’s events as well as underage development at MacCumhaills.
