Donegal League manager John Francis Doogan says the team spirit amongst his squad has been ‘second to none.’
He was speaking to Charlie Collins ahead of this weekend’s clash with Waterford in the semi-final of the Oscar Traynor Cup. Doogan also said the team has the perfect blend of youth and experience, which adds to the dynamic.
“We may not have been brilliant in the game we have played so far, but the actual ability of the lads and the know-how and team spirit has been second to none,” he said.
“That’s probably what has pulled us through and it’s a big factor at this level.”
Doogan says he doesn’t know a lot about the opposition, but added they have a good spread of players all over the pitch and you can ‘expect dapper’ in any team that gets to a semi-final.
The match takes place on Easter Sunday in Athlone and Donegal hope to go a step further in their attempt to capture their first Oscar Traynor Cup since 1983.
