Weather fails to dampen competition at Buncrana Golf Club

A successful Michael Fitzpatrick Memorial Open Stroke took place at Buncrana Golf Club last weekend, despite the terrible weather conditions. 

Saturday was the best of the two days and it was no surprise to see the majority of the winners coming from players on that day. Gerry Vaughan took first prize on the break of a tie with a 66 nett score and with a 5 over nett score in the first 9, coupled with the heavy rain showers many a player would have quit. However Gerry persevered and played some great golf to shoot a 5 under nett in the back 9 to leave him with a level par 66 nett for his 18 holes. Stephen Mc Hugh (1) continued his good form with another gross prize and Stephen Fitzpatrick (7) took the category 1 prize with a 69 nett and with a slightly better back 9 he could have secured his fathers memorial prize.

Drive It Home Draw Update

With only 5 days to the Major Fundraising Draw the committee would like to thank everyone who purchased a ticket and urge the member’s who haven’t purchased their tickets yet to do so.

As well as this, could all members who have tickets out get their tickets returned to the clubhouse preferably sold but if not, get them returned so they will be available for others to purchase. If any member’s feel they could sell another few tickets this would be greatly appreciated. As the deadline for the draw approaches people will be more aware of the draw and

will be looking for tickets, so any member who know anyone looking for a ticket, get it in the clubhouse for them or inform them they can be purchased online at – https://driveithomedraw.ie/

The Drive It Home Draw will have €41,000.00 in prizes with the main prize being a Hyundai i30 N-Line car valued at €30,000.00. The second prize will be €5,000.00, third €3,000.00, fourth €2,000.00 and fifth €1,000.00. The ticket will cost €25.00 each or 3 x tickets for €50.00 and 7 x tickets for €100.00.
